Sayar U San Hlaing was born to father U Khant and mother Daw Tint in PhyarPon township. He is the fourth among his siblings. Although he was interested in painting which was different from his family members he could study by drawing on the soil and the floor, because his parents were hard up, so he studied in school.

He earned his pocket money by himself since his childhood, because he is a perceptive child and he did not want to cause trouble for his parents.

He could earn money by drawing on Geography subjects in other children’s books because he has got talent for drawing and the others, might find it difficult to do so. When his standards got higher, he studied at school in the day and worked as a porter at night. He got a penny and six years for pottering.

His hobby is not only in painting but also in reading. Therefore, he went to the libraries if he had time and he read such as the literature of Journalgyaw U Chit Maung, Deedote Journal, etc.

And he complied with health too. He searched and read the health books and the health newspapers and journals. So he associated the staff of the library friendly for reading the books.

Maung San Hlaing ever thought about how to struggle to be free from the poverty of his family although he was a young student, besides, he earned the money by himself. Then he did not go to school, and went to the famous Artist “ Sayar Hmat ’’and studied the painting for his current. Because he has so many brothers and sisters. He left his school when he passed the seventh standard.
