U San Hlaing is a native of a place of Phyarpon Township and he is a man of good nature. At that time, he opened the shop at 27th Street and engaged the commercial art. I studied art at the State School of Fine Arts and I obtained 50 kyats as stipend during this period. In my free time, I drew the signboards and illustrations at U San Hlaing’s job for income besides a stipend. His line drawing is neat and tidy. He is an ideal person for he draws his works distinctly. He is content on his fee for the artwork and he does not want more money. When he drew with the compass, he persevered and his works were neat. His works which were created with full tone, were a bit similar to U Ngwe Gaing.

I think that U San Hlaing has very little greed and has been helping young artists.
