I met with U San Hlaing at the meetings since the beginning of the Art Council on the 13th, of September, 1963. In that period, I was a secretary and U San Hlaing was an organizer while we served our duties together, we were closer and thicker.

U San Hlaing is delicate and tolerant. Much of his works are line drawing and he can draw in ink. Because he studied under the great artist U Ngwe Gaing as a result his ink drawings are like his master’s artwork.

He is very skillful in not only the art of pencil, ink, etc, but also commercial art. Besides he can use the colours of Myanmar nature appropriately.

Well-known as he is a tolerant artist seeing his drawing method in religious magazines. He works his art honestly and truly. He did not shirk his job and has a very good social network like tolerance of art.
